School of Public Policy
The School of Public Policy is Canada's Leading Policy School.
Founded in 2008 by renowned economist Jack Mintz, the SPP began with a vision to drive policy discourse through relevant research, outreach, and teaching. Its faculty is composed of scholars with exceptional academic credentials and experienced practitioners in business, government, and the non-profit sector.
The School's research is respected and regarded for being independent, credible, and with an empirically robust output. Its influence is reflected by wide dissemination among policy makers, business leaders, and media. Indeed, the SPP is Canada’s most cited policy school, both within traditional media and academic publications.
Our institution, as part of the University of Calgary, provides hands-on training through a Master of Public Policy Program, a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development Program, and the Extractive Resource Governance Program. Its alumni can be found in leadership positions in the private, public, and non-profit sectors across the globe.
